Getting to know Whitney Wray

As a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner, I specialize in helping adults manage challenges such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood changes, and life transitions. I am passionate about supporting young adults—particularly college students—as they navigate the stresses of academics, work, and relationships. My approach is collaborative and non-judgmental. I believe the best outcomes happen when patients feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their care. Whether we’re discussing medication options, therapy goals, or coping strategies, I aim to empower you to make informed decisions about your mental health. I provide a blend of medication management and evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness practices, and solution-focused strategies. Each treatment plan is personalized, with the goal of building resilience, balance, and lasting wellness. I strive to create a safe, supportive environment where you feel comfortable exploring your needs. Many of my clients experience improvements in mood, focus, and overall daily functioning within the first few weeks of care. If you are ready to begin your mental health journey, I would be honored to support you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

New clients can expect a welcoming, collaborative environment where their concerns are taken seriously. In our first visit, we’ll review your history, clarify your goals, and create a personalized treatment plan together. My style is open and non-judgmental, blending medication management with evidence-based therapy to help you build practical tools for lasting mental wellness.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session, I complete a comprehensive evaluation to understand your symptoms, history, and goals. Together, we’ll decide whether medication, therapy, or a combination of both is the best approach. Follow-up visits focus on reviewing progress, adjusting treatment as needed, and building coping strategies through supportive talk therapy. My goal is to make each session collaborative, practical, and centered on helping you feel better in daily life.
