Dr. Xaoling Shang received her Bachelor’s Degree from Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and continued to pursue her passion for Chinese medicine at Pacific College of Health and Science, where she earned her Master’s Degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine. Dr. Shang is a licensed and nationally board-certified acupuncturist practicing in New York City. She values communication with her patients and creates effective treatment plans tailored specifically to each patient’s needs and conditions.
Dr. Shang specializes in cosmetic acupuncture (Meizen), which helps correct hormone imbalances and improves skin elasticity and hydration by stimulating blood flow and regulating the endocrine system. With over 15 years of experience in traditional Chinese medicine, Dr. Shang is highly skilled in women’s health and in treating chronic pain syndromes, allergies, common colds, depression, digestive disorders, skin conditions, sleep disorders, and sports injuries.
In addition to acupuncture, Dr. Shang is also specialized in various traditional Chinese medicine techniques, including Chinese herbs, Direct Detox System (DDS) therapy, cupping, gua sha, and body masks.

Dr. Shang was very pushy and unprofessional. She didn't respect me as a patient and wasn't interested in my health. She pestered me several times to make me book my next appointment before I left. Her acupuncture was rushed and unsanitary (did not wipe my skin with alcohol after removing the needles, did not wear gloves). I do not trust her as an ethical and professional acupuncturist.

I was able to book an appointment that was on a day and time that I desired I I found their front desk admin named Victoria was very knowledgeable about my insurance and helped me through the paperwork. The doctor listened and quickly addressed the problems that I had and was able to help me feel immediately better by the time I left and I will be returning highly recommend

Dr. Shang was amazing. Acupuncture helped with the sciatica pain and then physical therapy and finally cupping. The office was very friendly and clean and Dr. Shang is very kind and knowledgeable. I would recommend to anyone who is interested in acupuncture.

She seemed very rushed and didn't take time to really listen to me. Although my insurance covers acupuncture, I felt she kept pushing me to pay for PT and other add-ons that weren't covered by insurance even though I mentioned several times that I didn't need that. During one visit, she told me I was done and left the room. As I was dressing, I noticed that she left 2 needles in my back. I had to alert the front desk (with my shirt off) and the receptionist came into the room and pulled them out. Very unprofessional all-around, not to mention the rooms and equipment seemed dirty.

I started seeing Dr Shang in 2018, as I have problems with my sinus and my allergies were acute. I used to suffer from allergies episodes on a weekly basis. Dr Shang was very thorough and kind with me, always fit me in when it was a bad episode. After staying consistent with Accupuncture and DDS treatments for what I would say 40 sessions in total, I can confidently say that I feel cured and no longer have frequent allergy episodes. During 2019 I only got slight discomfort at the change of each season, so in total 4 times a year as opposed to weekly. I am so happy I came across Dr Shang and that she was adamant to cure my allergies regardless of how tough my case was. I’ve been suffering from my sinus for about a decade before seeing Dr Shang. I appreciate Dr Shang for her commitment, knowledge and kindness always.

I went to her for treatment for my first time with Acupuncture and safe to say, I am very impressed. She knew a lot about her field and was able to effectively explain to me what was going on. She is very knowledgeable with her methods and they work like a charm! I immediately booked a follow up appointment the next week because the effects of her treatment were noticeable and apparent. Highly recommend! I think her style of Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine should go hand in hand.

4 years ago I had breast cancer and I chose to treat myself with natural treatments. Dr Shang was referred by a friend and besides Acunpuncture she gave me herbs and a Chinese stick to use on my breast and in 8 months I was in remission. I booked appointment for my husband for pre diabetes. Doctor thoroughly assessed him and explained the causes why his sugar levels were fluctuating. Then she treated him with needles covering different organs explaining it’s impact on blood sugars. She kept needles for about 30 to 40 mins. My husband felt very relaxed and hoping that her treatment would help him in long run. Definitely looking forward for future sessions with her.

Went there since it is close to home. I was in excruciating pain from sciatica and I was very nervous about treatment. Dr. Shang was very patient and professional with me. I did see noticeable results after the first session. I was able to walk straight and walked home from there after arriving in a taxi!

If you want a nice relaxing place to get acupuncture her office isn’t it. It’s more of a physical therapy practice which is fine, but not what I was looking for and the acupuncture was pretty unsatisfying. The medical massage was pretty good though.

First off, the front desk was a mess. It was very disorganized. One of the girls at the desk was always very frantic, and spoke way too fast. She really needed to take a second to slow down to properly explain things to patients upon arrival.
And secondly, Dr. Shang appears to be overbooked as she had to step out of the room twice to wrap up other acupuncture sessions that were already in place. It was kinda difficult to relax when the walls are quite thin. Unfortunately my insurance doesn’t cover acupuncture and paying out of pocket for the service is out of my budget. I may have to try other alternatives, perhaps Groupon.

I really like how Dr. Shang treats patients! She's really professional and gentle. She uses tiny needles on my face to solve the acne problems. The treatment lasts about 20 minutes. I feel relaxed and comfortable. Will definitely come back again!

Dr. Shang is the best acupuncturist I’ve ever been to. I love that she treats my body as a whole and goes to the root of my issues. You can tell she really knows her stuff.
I recommend doing physical therapy along with the acupuncture, I always leave her office feeling great.
