The MD our appointment said we would see was not there; he wasn’t even on site. We saw a PA instead. The PA would have been fine for a general check up, but she was unable to address a greater medical issue that ended up needing hospitalization later in the week. When we followed up with her a day after the appointment, she tried to manage the symptoms over the phone instead of recognizing the problem was beyond her scope. We waited another day and finally saw a PCP who urged us to go to the hospital.
