About Dr. Yan (Rachel) Zhou
Dr. Yan (Rachel) Zhou is a dedicated and detail-oriented acupuncturist with a strong passion for preventative medicine and natural healing. She specializes in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine and is currently practicing at Wong’s Acupuncture, conveniently located near Bryant Park in New York City.
Dr. Zhou earned her Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) and Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine (DAcCHM) from Pacific College of Health and Science. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology, giving her a strong foundation in both Eastern and Western medical sciences. As part of her comprehensive training, Dr. Zhou has developed expertise in women’s health, including support for infertility, IVF/IUI treatments, and conditions such as dysmenorrhea, endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), amenorrhea, and menopause. She utilizes a combination of acupuncture and Chinese herbal therapies to provide individualized care and promote natural balance. In addition to women’s health, Dr. Zhou treats a wide range of conditions, including chronic and acute pain (neck and shoulder pain, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, lower back pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis ect.), as well as stress-related concerns common in fast-paced urban life—such as anxiety, insomnia, digestive issues, and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
Her treatment approach often incorporates acupuncture, acupressure, cupping, and herbal medicine to holistically support each patient’s physical and emotional well-being.

My experience with Rachel and CYPT&A was AMAZING! Rachel is not only super friendly, she is also very detailed oriented. She really takes the time to understand your concerns as a patient and what you hope to achieve with treatment.
An active listener, Rachel also takes the time to clearly explain and communicate her wholistic approach to your personalized treatment plan and is transparent about the adjustments that will come along the way. Part of this plan included the incorporation of PT, where she partnered up with her PT colleague, Jane.
On top of everything else, my experience was very educational! I loved that Rachel (& Jane for PT!) empowered me w/ knowledge to further understand components of TCM and what l need to do in order to achieve my ultimate goal of balance.
I am so happy I was intentional in choosing CYPT&A and Rachel as my provider!!

Exactly what I needed. Rachel was clear in her communication and explaining TCM and her initial assessment. A massage preceded the acupuncture session followed by physiotherapy. My body was thankful and I’m looking forward to coming back again and again!
