Yasmin Khan, MD, is an Assistant Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and practices endocrinology at Mount Sinai Doctors Queens. Prior to medical school, she studied psychology, biology, and chemistry at East Tennessee State University, where she also conducted research in diabetes and bariatric surgery. She went on to earn her medical degree at the Trinity College Dublin School of Medicine in Ireland. Dr. Khan completed her residency in internal medicine at Case Western Reserve University. From there, she completed her fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism at the University of Florida where she served as chief fellow.
Dr. Khan is a board-certified endocrinologist and treats a wide variety of glandular and hormonal conditions such as diabetes, thyroid and parathyroid disorders, thyroid nodules, thyroid cancer, and osteoporosis. She holds the Endocrine Certification in Neck Ultrasound (ECNU), administered by the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology in the evaluation of thyroid, parathyroid, and lymph nodes by ultrasound and fine needle aspiration. She is also certified in clinical densitometry (CCD) in the evaluation of osteoporosis. Dr. Khan takes a patient-centered approach to medicine with an emphasis on communication and listening, tailoring a treatment plan to each patient's individual lifestyle. Dr. Khan is passionate about providing the most optimal care for her patients, and she strongly supports the efforts of those who are motivated in making healthy changes in their lives. She finds it most rewarding when her patients see an overall improvement in their health and quality of life.

I went to see Dr. Khan to get a second opinion on my PCOS diagnosis. She took the time to go through multiple lab results I had brought with me from previous hormonal blood tests. She was absolutely amazing and took the time to answer all my questions (I had a lot of them) and even responded within a day to a follow up question I sent her through the patient portal. I can absolutely recommend her to anyone. I wish more doctors were like her!

First time seeing an endocrinologist. A friend had recommended I see one for the symptoms I’ve been experiencing for the last year. I’m usually hesitant when looking and meeting new doctors. From experience, I’ve had doctors wave away my symptoms, worries and questions. I’ve had misdiagnosis and some that would just shrug it off. Anyway, I booked an appointment last minute and surprisingly was able to see Dr. Khan the same day. Her office was very far but I’m glad I went. She was very kind and very outgoing. She made me feel comfortable. I felt like I was talking to a friend. Great listener! She listened to me and took her time with going through everything. Did not rush me or ignore my symptoms. She wanted to get to the root of the problem. Ran some tests and will see her in a few weeks for the results. Overall, great experience!

Dr. Khan was so great! I have let my health needs slip behind others in the family and she was so supportive and took as viewing everything with a clean slate (baseline view). Excellent bedside manner. I have had a chronic condition for 25 years and she was the first to look at my medical needs with a deeper perspective and wanted to further analyze things, which was great! She made me feel so comfortable and at ease. All the staff was very respectful of COVID protocols and I felt very safe there. A very well run office. Looking forward to follow up appointments.
