Dr. Yee Yee Thein is a Board Certified Adult Psychiatrist with extensive experience in various areas of psychiatry, particularly working with adolescents aged 17 and older. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Medicine 2, Yangon. Dr. Thein completed her internship in psychiatry at Temple University Hospital and her residency training in psychiatry at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. She is currently an Assistant Professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where she supervises residents and medical students. Her clinical expertise includes inpatient and emergency psychiatry, as well as the diagnosis and management of anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and eating disorders.

What should a new client know about working with you?

The following services will NOT be provided by Dr. Thein: 1. Long term prescription of Benzodiazepines (Valium, Klonopin, Xanax, and Ativan) unless you are willing to come off the medication. 2. Prescriptions for narcotics, pain medication, opiods, medication for opoid dependence (Suboxone, Methodone). 3. Filling out FMLA, short-term or long-term disability paperwork. 4. Serving as an expert witness . 5. Medication refills or changes will not be made over the phone. Please check your medication supply before your scheduled visits so that we can plan accordingly. 6. We cannot guarantee the continuation of any stimulant medications that you are currently taking. After an assessment, evaluation, and diagnosis, Dr. Thien will provide you with the medication and treatment plans that she deems appropriate.
