Hello, my name is Yelena, and I am pleased to become a part of your healing journey.
I am a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with over 15 years of nursing experience. I have a doctorate degree in psychiatric nurse practitioner from Wayne State University, a bachelor of science in nursing from Wayne State University, and a bachelor of science in psychology from Michigan State University.
Every person has what it takes to transcend suffering; my role as a provider is to guide you in that process. Often, suffering is a result of childhood programming and unresolved feelings that go unnoticed until they disrupt our lives. Many difficult or traumatic life events force us to develop thoughts and behaviors that protect us in the moment but lead to internal and relationship conflicts over time. I specialize in helping clients become aware of the thoughts and feelings that harm them and teaching how to create new thoughts and feelings that empower them. My goal is to help you live an authentic and joyful life through achieving self-awareness, acceptance, and a positive self-image.
I provide empathy and compassion during sessions. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner I offer a holistic approach to healing, which can include medication and/or psychotherapy. I work with all mental health problems, with a focus on depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and trauma. My approach to psychotherapy is tailored to the individual, but most often consists of mindfulness-based interventions, DBT, parts reintegration, and neural rewiring techniques.
During our time together, we will figure out what kind of life you truly desire and I will help you get to your destination by uncovering and removing the things that block you.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I am a holistic psychiatric nurse practitioner and you will be met with compassion and empathy during sessions. I am interested in helping you define healing and achieve your goals. We will do this by changing harmful thoughts and releasing painful emotions. This will foster acceptance and self-love and create a joyful life.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
During our initial session, we will discuss your story, what led you to seek therapy, and your desired outcomes. I will outline my initial plan of care and ask for your consent to move forward. I will customize an approach to meet your needs, but our focus will be on changing harmful thoughts and feelings and developing self-love and acceptance. I will introduce different therapeutic modalities, including mindfulness techniques, parts-reintegration, neural requiring, radical acceptance, and DBT. In many cases, initial improvement can be expected within a month.

Yelena was warm and knowledgeable. I came for medication and began weekly therapy with her, and it was very beneficial. She speaks Russian, which really helped me out at times. I think she is caring and she can help figure out what the root of the problem is and how to deal with it. I like her approach to problems. She explained things until I really understood them and helped me deal with things that I did not want to face.
