About Dr. Yelena Pleshkova

Yelena Pleshkova, MD, MBA, first attended National Medical University in Almaty, Kazakhstan. After relocating to Houston, Texas, she completed a Family Medicine externship at HCA Healthcare West Houston Hospital, followed by a Cardiology externship at Memorial Hermann Hospital, both in 2021. Dr. Pleshkova then completed her Internal Medicine residency at Adventhealth in Sebring, Florida, in 2025. Trilingual in English, Russian, and Ukrainian, she joined Kelsey-Seybold Clinic in November 2025 as a primary care physician. Dr. Pleshkova’s inspiration to become a doctor came from her grandmother, who served as a physician during World War II and whose two daughters also became physicians. Dr. Pleshkova specializes in caring for adults and seniors, with a focus on complex and chronic conditions. Her expertise includes managing diabetes, metabolic syndrome and obesity, metabolic-associated liver disease, difficult-to-control hypertension, heart failure, asthma, COPD, and chronic kidney disease. She also has experience in diagnosing and treating rare conditions such as cardiac amyloidosis, amyloid polyneuropathy, and complex chronic pain syndromes. She focuses on preventive care, identifying conditions before complications arise, and restoring metabolic health and vitality through tailored care. Whether the concern is a common chronic illness or a rare, challenging disorder, Dr. Pleshkova is committed to providing thoughtful, individualized care that helps her patients live healthier, fuller lives.
