“I've had knee pain for a few years, and my knee bones feel cold. Dr. Hu, who has excellent knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine, treated me twice, and my condition has improved significantly. I didn't expect acupuncture to be so effective! If I ever feel unwell again, I'll see Dr. Hu first, and I'll recommend Dr. Hu to my friends.”

About Dr. Ying Hu

In 1987, Dr. Hu began her journey of healing by earning an M.D. from West China University of Medical Sciences (now Sichuan University) and practicing medicine from remote villages to one of the largest cities in China. After nearly a decade of clinical practice, Dr. Hu joined the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in 1995, continuing to pursue her passion for helping people through Western medicine. Following 15 years in the Western medical field, Dr. Hu felt a calling to treat patients in a more natural and empathetic way and shifted her career to Traditional Chinese Medicine. She earned a degree from Bastyr University and began practicing as a licensed acupuncturist in 2000. Driven by an unceasing commitment to education and finding the best ways to support healing, Dr. Hu earned a Doctorate in Chinese Medicine from West China School of Medicine, Sichuan University, and later a Ph.D. in Chinese Medicine from Liberty University in 2007.

Ying is incredible. I suffer with anxiety and depression and I came in feeling hopeless and needing to find a way to help me get back on the track. I had an extensive conversation with Ying about my issues, stemming from a pending divorce, family of origin of being abused and she knew exactly what to do. We started on my acupuncture session with me laying on my side, I was super anxious because well… needles. Turns out, it didn’t feel bad at all! And when she started the process I could literally feel all the bad energy flow out of me. I felt much better after the session but knew having acupuncture in my life was necessary in my healing journey and getting to that state where I was finally going through post traumatic growth. I go twice a week, Ying also helps me with cupping because of intense workout regimen and I’ve benefited from that. She is such a key part in my support team and I can’t thank her enough for her support. She is super sweet and so thankful for her.

Dr. Hu was very thorough at my first appointment asking what was the reason for the visit so she would know how to best help me. Every appointment I went to Dr. Hu would ask how I was feeling so she could know the best place to put the needles. I went for three months once a week, my back and head would hurt a lot so the acupuncture would help so I had less pain and could sleep better at night and do my daily work better with less pain. Dr. Hu would suggest that I eat certain foods and drink certain teas and water which I would do that would help all to heal my body from the pain I had. The change that would take place for me was very subtle, so going once a week was good.
