About Young Kim

Born in Seoul, Korea, Young’s journey into the world of acupuncture began in a culture where these healing practices are deeply rooted in daily life. His early exposure to acupuncture and herbal therapies ignited a passion for natural healing, particularly when he realized that these practices were not as widely known or accessible in the United States. With a desire to bring this transformative therapy to a new audience, Young pursued a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Oregon, followed by a Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, one of North America's leading acupuncture schools. In 2010, Young founded Essential Acupuncture in Seattle, with the vision of creating a clinic that could provide exceptional care while advancing acupuncture's role in holistic health. As the founder and primary educator for the company, he has dedicated himself to expanding the practice's reach and impact. Through his leadership, Essential Acupuncture has grown, with additional clinics opening in Arlington in 2012 and Kirkland in 2021. Today, Young is shifting his focus to advancing the field of acupuncture through education and the training of future acupuncturists. His goal is to ensure that the practice continues to grow and thrive, maintaining high standards of quality and care for generations to come. While his clinical work has been diverse, with specialties in pain management, digestive health, women’s health, and preventive care, Young now devotes his time to guiding and mentoring the team at Essential Acupuncture. His passion for education allows him to impart the knowledge and skills necessary for others to carry forward his vision of promoting natural health and wellness. Young’s approach to acupuncture is rooted in compassion and a deep commitment to empowering others through education, and he continues to ensure that Essential Acupuncture remains a leader in integrative healthcare.
