About Dr. Zahid Baig
Zahid Baig, MD is a board-certified gastroenterologist specializing in advanced endoscopic procedures, including endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), advanced polypectomy, ERCP, EGD, and complex stenting. He has extensive expertise in treating a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders such as Barrett’s Esophagus, inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, pancreatic disorders, and colorectal cancer.
He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Forman Christian College, Pakistan and his Medical Degree from Bahauddin University, Nishtar Medical College, Pakistan. He completed his internship and residency at Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio, followed by a fellowship at the University of South Florida, Tampa.
Dr. Baig has received numerous honors for his clinical excellence, research, and teaching, including the American College of Physicians Clinical Research Award, Best Teaching Resident Award, Barrett H. Bolton Award for Humanism, America’s Top Physician, and repeated recognition as a Top Doctor by NJ Monthly (2018–2025). He is also a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and serves on the Board of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
In addition to his clinical and academic work, Dr. Baig is a philanthropist and co-founder of the Medina Community Clinic. Outside of medicine, he enjoys cricket, photography, reading, and giving back to the community.
