About Dr. Alexis Abernethy

I started swimming competitively when I was 7. I quickly found a love for the sport and it led to me becoming an endurance swimmer. Since then, I have taken up cycling and running and have competed in half marathons and triathlons. With all of this physical activity, I found myself participating in physical therapy to treat and prevent injuries. This has prompted me to pursue a career in physical therapy to pay it forward to my community. During PT school, I found my other passion of treating pelvic floor patients. I have completed a 12 week clinical treating this population, taken my first certification course and look forward to continuing my education.
