About Alicia Abalo
Welcome! I'm Alicia Abalo, PT – Your Partner in Movement and Recovery
I am a licensed physical therapist dedicated to helping you move better, feel stronger, and live with less pain. I provide personalized physical therapy services tailored to relieve discomfort, improve strength, and restore optimal function.
My treatment approach combines evidence-based therapeutic exercise with hands-on manual therapy techniques, including myofascial release, trigger point therapy, and soft tissue mobilization. Each treatment plan is individualized to meet your specific needs and goals.
Whether you are recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, or rehabilitating after surgery, I am committed to supporting your recovery every step of the way. I offer post-operative rehabilitation to help restore mobility, reduce pain and swelling, and rebuild strength following orthopedic or pelvic procedures. I also incorporate Pilates-based techniques into therapy sessions to enhance core stability, flexibility, and overall movement control.
Pelvic floor therapy is another key area of focus in my practice. I provide both internal and external pelvic floor treatments to address conditions such as incontinence, pelvic pain, and muscle weakness or tightness. I have completed Level 1 Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation as well as Athletes and Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation certifications through Herman & Wallace. Additionally, I have completed the Scoliosis and Spinal Conditions Fitness Master Course through ScoliActive.

Outside of the clinic, I enjoy discovering new restaurants and exploring local museums. I believe that healing goes beyond the physical—joy, movement, and curiosity are all essential parts of the process.

Highly skilled and professional. A rare gem in the rockpile of physical therapists in and around NYC. Literally my best experience with a physical therapists. With focused treatment, along with instructions for at home care and exercises, my lingering tennis elbow has never felt better. Highly recommend.
