Alyssa was involved in physical therapy research through UD's ADaPT program (Advancing Diversity in Physical Therapy) and the Peter White Fellowship as an undergraduate, focusing on muscle activation patterns in patients with post-operative TKA. While completing her graduate coursework, she served as chairperson for Delaware's Student Special Interest Group (SSIG) during her second year and helped organize an event with local Girl Scout troops to promote the physical therapy profession in the community. Alyssa's passion for physical therapy began after a positive rehab experience for a rotator cuff injury in high school. She has experience across outpatient sports and orthopedics, outpatient neurology and geriatrics, pediatrics, inpatient acute care, and inpatient acute rehabilitation settings. Her overall goal is to make a lasting impact on NYC's community by helping patients regain function and increase self-confidence. Her clinical interests include vestibular therapy, fall prevention, running analysis, and rehabilitation. She plans to pursue vestibular and manual therapy certifications in the future. Raised in the suburbs of Delaware, Alyssa is excited to build her career in NYC. She enjoys running through the park, exploring the city's best food spots via Yelp, attending live shows, and cooking up a storm in the kitchen.
