About Amelia Rivera
Amelia Rivera PT, DPT, SCS earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Sports Studies with a minor in Psychology from Rutgers University. While attending Rutgers, Amelia was a James Dickson Carr Merit Scholarship recipient and swam for the Rutgers Swimming and Diving Team, where she received Big East Academic All-American Honors.
Throughout her career, Amelia’s main passion has been focused on sports rehabilitation and orthopedic physical therapy. With her athletic background, she enjoys working with the athletic population, emphasizing endurance athletes and post-operative return to sport. Her dedication to providing optimal patient care has motivated her to cultivate her manual skills as she works toward becoming a Certified Full Body Active Release Technique Provider.
Amelia has volunteered for the NYC Marathon and NYC Triathlon and is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association. She completed her first Ironman in 2014 and qualified for the 2017 USA Triathlon Age-Group National Championships. Amelia continues to compete in various triathlons, marathons, and endurance races.

Amelia is great. She very professionally but has a warm friendly bedside manner/personality. She is always on time and let’s me get on the bike and ride before my appointment. I have been working with Amelia for 5 weeks post-op and my recovery is going seamlessly. I’m feeling stronger every day and I owe that to her. She is definitely a top notch physical therapist. I would recommend her to anyone.
Also, the facility is always clean and everyone in the office is very friendly and accommodating.

I am a dancer who has had to recover from both multiple injuries and surgeries. Amelia not only helped me recover quickly and provided much needed support during the rehab process; she also worked with me to develop a rehab protocol specific to my needs. She has been a true partner in my recovery process. I would not be dancing today without her. I cannot sing her praises enough!

Amelia has seen me through two shoulder surgery rehabs. Not only is she knowledgeable and confident in her treatment, she was an incredible source of information and advice at and in between appointments. She got me through to full recovery and not without a few laughs. I can not recommend her highly enough.
