“Dr. Bagley was a key part of my recovery after I broke my ankle. Once cleared for weight-bearing movement by my surgeon, Dr. Bagley created a physical therapy plan specifically for me & my injury. Using his extensive knowledge of how the human body heals and which exercises facilitate the healing process, he guided me through my PT plan and changed therapies as I progressed. Dr. Bagley is an attentive listener. He asks lots of questions about your pain, about your physical goals & your activity levels. Then he formulates a PT plan JUST FOR YOU. He doesn’t simply hand you a list of exercises & send you home. He will answer your questions & will explain WHY an exercise will help your body recover. Communication with his patients is important to him. I definitely recommend Dr. Bagley for your physical therapy needs. You’ll be impressed!”

About Dr. Andrew Bagley

Dr. Andrew Bagley is the founder and lead physical therapist at ALTR Performance & Physical Therapy, where he blends clinical expertise with a deep commitment to helping people move, feel, and perform better. A Mount Pleasant native and former competitive swimmer, Andrew was a 4x state champion at Wando High School and still holds records with the Coastal Carolina Aquatics Association. After undergoing rotator cuff surgeries on both shoulders as a teen, he was introduced to the world of physical therapy—an experience that shaped his future. He earned his undergraduate degree from UNC Chapel Hill, where he worked as a student athletic trainer with NCAA Division I programs, and went on to serve as an athletic trainer at NC State University. While earning his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Duke University, he continued his hands-on work with Duke’s Club Sports athletes. After returning to Charleston, Andrew launched ALTR to raise the standard of care in his hometown. Andrew is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and holds certifications in vestibular rehab and concussion management. Outside the clinic, he enjoys spending time with his wife Ali, staying active, and being part of the Charleston community. His passion for performance, recovery, and long-term health is the driving force behind everything ALTR stands for.

Andrew is the best physical therapist I have ever seen! He truly cares about his patients and listens to all questions, concerns, etc. Andrew has changed my outlook on physical therapy forever. It works!!
Dr Bagley is outstanding at finding the root cause of pain even though it may not be at the site of the pain. Then the physical therapy, then the maintenance plan. Outstanding!
