Dr. Brendan Kirk has been a physical therapist since 2013. He has spent his entire career in outpatient orthopaedic clinics in northern New Jersey. Born, raised, and currently residing in the Bergen/Passaic area, he felt a drive to open a practice with the mission to provide personalized care to his community for years to come. Brendan earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Rutgers University and holds a bachelor's degree from Muhlenberg College. He has extensive experience and training treating the full spectrum of age groups and diagnoses. His advanced training as a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist is a designation held by only about 7% of physical therapists. He especially enjoys working with neck and back pain, sports injuries, pre- and post-surgical cases, running injuries, neurological conditions, and general aches and pains. As a former collegiate athlete dealing with injuries, he understands the experience from both a patient's and a provider's perspective. Brendan utilizes a comprehensive and hands-on approach to physical therapy. You are not “just another number” – you will be cared for and treated with an individualized plan of care. Each patient has unique goals, and it is the responsibility of the therapist-patient team to work toward them together. He has extensive experience with myofascial release, trigger points, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, and many other manual therapy techniques to maximize your outcome. As an avid exerciser himself, he develops personalized therapeutic exercise routines for his patients from his own seemingly endless database to create a thorough and evidence-based plan of care. When not in the clinic, you can usually find him running around Bergen County or spending time with his wife and two young children. He enjoys skiing, reading, spending time at the beach, and working on projects around the house.
