Caitlyn’s passion for occupational therapy began after seeing the meaningful impact it had on her family members. Her interest deepened as she shadowed multiple therapists, leading her to attend Quinnipiac University for their accelerated Entry-Level Master of Occupational Therapy Program. She was introduced to hand therapy during a level I fieldwork rotation and pursued a graduate-level special topics course in hand therapy, furthering her interest in the specialty. At Quinnipiac, Caitlyn served as the President and Merchandise Chair of the Student Occupational Therapy Association, Peer Tutor, Peer Fellow, and member of Pi Theta Epsilon OT Honor Society and Alpha Eta Honor Society for Allied Health Professions. Upon graduating Summa Cum Laude, she earned various academic achievements, including the Occupational Therapy Program Senior Academic Achievement Award for her outstanding performance in didactic, clinical, laboratory work, as well as contributions to the OT department. Additionally, she received the President’s Scholarship Award and Alumni Association Academic Achievement Award for attaining the highest scholastic standing in her graduating class. She completed a level II fieldwork rotation with Professional Physical Therapy where she gained hands-on experience evaluating and treating a range of hand and upper extremity conditions. This experience solidified her passion for hand therapy as she helped clients regain their function and independence. Caitlyn plans to become a Certified Hand Therapist to use client-centered and evidence-based practice to improve performance in meaningful occupations. In her spare time, Caitlyn enjoys taking photographs, painting, working out, and baking.
