Dr. Carolee Rada, PsyD

Psychologist
MA
Hi there, I'm Carolee! My name is Carolee Rada, and I am an experienced, licensed clinical psychologist with a PsyD from Antioch College. The reasons behind one's decision to seek therapy are generally multifaceted. Whatever the reasons a person may choose to begin therapy, they are always real and valid. I am committed to helping individuals explore, process, and resolve painful experiences, thoughts, emotions, and patterns that interfere with their quality of life. My approach I provide individual psychotherapy to adults, college students, and adolescents to help them work through difficult experiences by making positive changes to reach their goals. I have advanced training and experience in many diverse models, integrating strategies from multiple theoretical perspectives including psychoanalytic treatment, interpersonal therapy (IPT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and relational treatment. I also utilize evidence-based treatments such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and EMDR. My many years of clinical work have enabled me to treat a variety of psychological disorders such as PTSD, intergenerational patterns of trauma, dissociation, depression, mood disorders, OCD, anxiety, and help with identity issues including cultural identity. My focus My clinical experience includes working in the VA system with Veterans and active-duty service members, specializing in Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. My VA work took me to Hawaii, where I worked with a range of diverse cultures including the outer islands and Asian populations, while also traveling to Samoa, Guam, and the Philippines to provide psychotherapy. I have first-hand knowledge of the unique challenges associated with all these populations. My goals for you Goal setting with clients should be collaborative with realistic expectations. If goals are set too high, clients may sometimes feel like they are failing.
