My visit was excellent. I've been to see many therapists in the past and no one has understood and supported me in the way that Caryn does. She has helped me learn to recognize my feelings before I go into action because I used to really struggle with impulse control. Now, I'm doing better at work and I din't fight with my husband so much.

More about Caryn Rothauser, LCSW
People come to therapy when life feels chaotic or unmanageable, or they feel stuck or in need of support. Whether you come for individual, couples or group psychotherapy, the first goal of therapy is to relieve emotional suffering. I will help you to explore the root of the problem, to gain awareness, and to change unwanted behaviors and patterns that cause distress.
Stress, anxiety, depression and difficult relationships can be too challenging to improve on your own. Illnesses, unexpected life changes and even planned transitions can render you in need of support. People in relationships get caught up in cycles of interaction that impede positive connection. My post-graduate training is in individual, couples and group psychotherapy, which affords my patients a range of treatment options.
My style is warm, supportive and direct. I am committed to helping you address the emotions or relational distress that may be overwhelming at this time, and to helping you to develop the capacity to have all of your feelings while moving forward in life.

Caryn was extremely nice and I felt very comfortable when speaking to her. Her approach was gentle and she helped me look at issues in my life that I needed to discuss. I definitely recommend her.

As always, I was pleased with my session. It can be very challenging to find a person you feel safe with and comfortable opening up to, but Caryn has been just that. She's given me the time and space to do so. Never rushing me. Always present in our time together and I get the sense she is truly invested in my health and growth. Highly recommend.

I am very happy with Caryn. She is a very kind and attentive therapist. I have been to many people in the past so I think I know for me what is helpful and what isn't. She seemed to have a good sense of me early on and when I disagreed with her she was interested and fully explored my ideas and how they compared to hers....what I liked especially was that we laughed as well. So many therapists I had been too were sort of stone faced and removed. With Caryn I felt like I was talking to a real person, not a "shrink." That is important to me. I find myself thinking about the things she says to me days after the session. I am happy I found her.

I have been seeing Caryn Rothauser for two years. She really listens, never judges and helps me to understand my relationships better. I have made major life changes with her support that I never could have made otherwise because she has the patience to help me really sort through all of my feelings. Highly recommended.
