Cassandra Cook, PT

Physical Therapist
331 W Central Ave, Ste 239, Winter Haven, FL
Dr. Cassie Cook is a 7th generation Floridian who is proud to have called Winter Haven home since 2007. She loves paddle boarding or waterskiing on the chain of lakes, traveling in the US and abroad, and spending time with her friends and family. She doesn’t have any pets, but enjoys petting random dogs if deemed appropriate by their humans. Cassie has been a licensed Doctor of Physical therapy since 2014, graduating Cum Laude from the University of Saint Augustine for Health Sciences. Following graduation she was one of three candidates selected as a post-doctoral orthopedic physical therapy resident at the James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital, in Tampa, Florida. Here she practiced autonomously, with expert mentorship in multiple settings such as acute care, inpatient rehab, direct access primary care, specialized amputee clinic, and outpatient rehab, focusing on orthopedic physical therapy. During her residency she lectured and gave presentations, including group classes, educating veterans on common lumbar and cervical impairments, with an emphasis on self-care. Since completing her residency, Cassie has been practicing in the outpatient orthopedic setting in Winter Haven, Lakeland, Lakeland Highlands, and Davenport. She has worked with a variety of patients ranging from adolescent athletes to higher risk retirees. Common complaints addressed have included sports injuries, pre and post-operative impairments, work injuries, car accident related injuries, and balance and vestibular rehabilitation. While treating these patients and clients, she practices with a focus on manual physical therapy. This specialization was validated when she passed a series of written, practical, and oral exams to receive her Manual Therapy Certification in 2015.
