About Dr. Christopher M. Steege

Chris graduated from Wartburg College in 2003 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, while also studying secondary education. He went on to the University of Iowa to study physical therapy and graduated with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2006. He practiced in Rock Island, Illinois, Omaha, Nebraska, Council Bluffs, Iowa, Ames, Iowa, Overland Park, Kansas, and Olathe, Kansas before moving to Galena, Illinois, to work with Medical Associates in 2017. His main area of interest is with the Postural Restoration Institute, also known as PRI, but he has a diverse background and knowledge in various physical therapy treatments and techniques. Other areas of training include: TPI (Titleist Performance Institute), SFMA (Selective Functional Movement Assessment), FMS (Functional Movement Screen), FRCms certification, Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist, FCE (Functional Capacity Evaluation), BFR training, fitness and sports performance enhancement, manual therapy treatments and techniques, functional dry needling, and strength and conditioning. His goal is to combine multiple interventions, if necessary, to get his clients out of pain and return them to their desired activities. In his free time, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He also enjoys golfing, running, skiing (both downhill and cross-country), kayaking, cooking, and generally leading an active lifestyle.
