About Dr. Daniel Smith
Dr. Daniel Smith, PT, DPT, LAT is a physical therapist and licensed athletic trainer with a passion for sports medicine, orthopedic rehabilitation, and performance. Originally from Kentucky, Daniel earned his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training, with a minor in Food and Nutrition, from the University of Alabama. He later completed his Doctor of Physical Therapy at the Medical University of South Carolina.
During his time at Alabama, Daniel gained hands-on sports medicine experience working with the university’s football, baseball, soccer, and track and field programs. His athletic training background also included clinical experience with the Detroit Lions. These opportunities gave him a strong understanding of the demands athletes face from the moment an injury occurs through rehabilitation and the return to competition.
Daniel uses evidence-based rehabilitation, progressive exercise, manual therapy, and patient education to create individualized treatment plans for each patient. His goal is not only to reduce pain and restore movement, but also to help athletes and active individuals return stronger, perform with confidence, and reduce their risk of future injury.
Daniel recently moved to Dallas with his wife and son and is excited to make North Texas home while serving the athletes and active individuals throughout the DFW community.

Daniel was very knowledgeable and addressed all of my concerns and even asked to follow up questions to better understand what was going on with me. I appreciated the detail he put into his instruction to make sure I was performing everything correctly and showed genuine empathy about my concerns. I could immediately feel some relief in my back and hips with some of the things that he has shown me and I am confident/hopeful that this treatment is going to work.

The facility was nice, clean and comfortable. Daniel was an excellent PT! He was very professional and did evaluation of my abilities after surgery and went over my abilities prior to surgery. We discussed goals, expectations I have as well as what he as a therapist has of his clients. He was very thorough in explaining everything including plan of care and need for modifications along the way. He took steps needed to maintain privacy and modesty/dignity while providing excellent care and service. I could not have asked for better!!! Thank you Daniel Smith and HPT!

Daniel also does a great job in explaining the treatment plan clearly, making sure you understand each step! I really appreciate that about his care!
