About David Block

David Block is the Clinical Director of SPEAR's Midtown - W 44th Street location. He earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy with distinction from the New York Institute of Technology. While at NYIT, David received the Benjamin Morey Commitment to Excellence Award and the Alpha Eta Student Research Award. His graduate research study, entitled "Can the Substitution of Shoulder Internal Rotation for External Rotation during ULNT3 Evoke a Comparable Neurodynamic Response in Embalmed Cadavers?” was published in the Journal of Manual and Manipulative Therapy in 2015. David has taken a special interest in treating cases involving pathology of the spine and is currently studying with the McKenzie Institute in pursuit of achieving a Certification in Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment (MDT) of spinal disorders. He also enjoys treating a variety of orthopedic conditions and places an emphasis on manual therapy. David grew up on Long Island, NY and enjoyed playing soccer, hockey, and tennis both competitively and for leisure. He is an active member of the United States Tennis Association and is currently ranked as a 4.0. In David's free time, he enjoys reading, listening to music and hanging with his dog!

David is the best around! He is so nice and professional and has provided me with more relief than I could have imagined. He is always accommodating with schedules and puts his patient's needs first. I have recommended him (and his office) to a few friends, all of whom have also had wonderful experiences! One of the best PT experiences I have ever had. I felt like I got a lot of attention each session and my pain has significantly decreased. I also feel like I learned alot from David so that I can take exercises and stretches home and continue them.
David made my first experience in PT such that I would return if another problem were to present itself. Very knowledgeable and friendly to work with. The foot wrap was fantastic. Also David went out of his way to treat me when I accidentally arrived early for one of my appointments.
David is outstanding. Through the first initial visits and finding out what was really wrong, David was so knowledgeable & found the PT exercises to get me pain free.
All of them were great but Dave helped me heal both quickly & effectively. He knew my goals were to get back to my active lifestyle & he supported that allowing me to progress without wasting time/money.
