David Lee, LP

Psychologist
MN
I am a Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, and Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. As a licensed mental health therapist for over 35 years, what is most important to me is understanding what the people that I work with want in their therapy. As we face stressful challenges in our lives, we can all benefit from gaining another, independent perspective to help guide us to solutions. Being appointed to Minnesota's State Advisory Council on Mental Health, I am able to stay current with new developments in the mental health field. My approach The connection between a therapist and those they work with is most important. Finding the right "fit" may take some time, however, therapy is most successful when this occurs. I use a combination of Person-Centered, Collaborative, and Solution-Focused Therapies. My focus Individuals and couples going through life changes and encountering new stressors in their lives have been a regular part of my practice. I also work with families encountering relationship issues, communication challenges, and clarity of expectations. My communication style Being respectful and carefully listening to understand what the presenting concerns are the foundation of my work. Guided questions and suggestions help to focus and move toward solutions. My journey to mental healthcare I grew up with a great appreciation for good mental health. Throughout my life, I have had opportunities to see how our mental health can be improved and our lives become more balanced and healthy overall. My clinical work has evolved through many settings and has allowed me to have broadly diverse experiences that have continued to strengthen my skills.
