My approach I specialize in assisting individuals, families, couples, and parents with effectively addressing addiction and/or codependency. I take a relational, family systems, and solution-focused approach to therapy. I work with deep respect to understand each person's experiences and choices. If a client wants my perspective, I will outline what I see are the options/choices to address a particular issue and the pros and cons of each. I then non-judgmentally support the person's choice on how they want to proceed. This may include cognitive-behavioral, recovery, communication, and interpersonal strategies and tools. I want to support you with finding the answers and direction that are right for you. I work to learn who you are and how I can best support you. My focus Areas of specialty: 1. Assisting parents of teens and adult children who are addicted or have other serious mental illnesses. 2. Family therapy is indicated in these situations when the teen or young adult is willing or agrees to participate. 3. Partners, spouses, and family members of a loved one who is addicted or has another serious mental illness. 4. Individuals wanting to address their substance abuse, including people who have complex PTSD, Borderline Personality Disorder, or another mental illness. 5.
