Have you been thinking about therapy for a while? Is there something on your mind you wish you could better understand, share, or resolve? Taking the plunge into therapy often comes after a lot of thought. Intentionally focusing on our problems, ourselves, and the biggest parts of our lives can be daunting, but it can also be a step in the right direction. Therapy can open new pathways and facilitate greater self-understanding. It may be the thing you never knew you needed—or the thing you’ve suspected you needed for a while. I take an integrative approach, incorporating a relational psychodynamic philosophy with cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) techniques, depending on your goals. I believe in allowing the client to guide the experience; this process is personal and belongs to you. Simultaneously, the work necessary to achieve results is a joint effort. An effective partnership is key to achieving change and resolving conflicts. It is important to me to have open and ongoing conversations about what is working and what may not be. I primarily work with adults and couples. I work with adults of all ages and have a particular interest in those going through life transitions—whether moving to a new city, going through a breakup, or considering a new career. This may also look like a reevaluation of identity or values. In my work with couples, I am especially interested in couples from religious communities. I am familiar with the culture and practices within some of these communities and understand the integral role they often play in relationships. Beyond this, I run support, skills, and process groups. My groups provide clients the opportunity to confront struggles as a team and gain a critical support system. I earned my PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Yeshiva University, which informs my understanding and approach. I invite you to reach out. Let’s begin.
