When I had a change in mood, he was focused on trying to gather information about changes in my life and making effective suggestions that would correct the problems, or in finding out if different individual medications could be insufficient and preventing other medications from doing their job.
When I had emergency concerns where I needed to see Dr Kuhnley ahead of my scheduled appointment, it was easy to get in to see him within days.

We have been working with Dr. Kuhnley for nearly 2 years for 3 of our kids, and we love him! He is an excellent doctor, very knowledgeable and kind. He has many years of experience. He's good about getting to the heart of problems, diagnosing, finding medicines to help, and also looking outside the box for anything we are missing diagnosis-wise or other issues that could be contributing to problems. One of the best things about him is he really listens. He takes time to hear from us as parents, as well as from our kids directly about how things are going and what issues we're struggling with. He truly takes into account our insights and our children's mental states. He is respectful of our wishes in regards to what medicine we use or choose not to, and explains pros and cons of use, as well as things to watch for and possible side effects. He is quick to point out positives and ready with humor and jokes. He is very caring, has called outside of regular hours when we were in crisis.

I love Dr Kuhnley. He has helped me immensely through talk and the correct meds for my needs. He is kind and supportive and has a wonderful way of asking the right questions to lead me to discovering my own answers. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing psychiatric services.

I am very comfortable with Dr. Kuhnley. I have had other Doctors in the past who made me feel like just a number to fill out forms. Dr. Kuhnley will let me discuss anything I need to talk about. I don't feel judged at all and I feel he understands me when we talk. It is a comfort to know I have a Doctor who makes me feel as he cares about my well being.

Dr. Kuhnley is very attentive to both the parent and child. He always makes sure to direct his attention and questions to the patient and is very encouraging. He is personable and respectful and always makes sure that we understand what was discussed before the end of the appointment.

As a 60 year old with challenges involving ADHD, anxiety and depression, I have been working for years to improve my wellness with meditation, therapy and medication. Dr Koonley has been my psychologist for a few years and I have found him to consistently demonstrate excellent listening/communication skills, empathy, wisdom regarding mental health and knowledge of medications which have supported my personal growth. He has years of experience and uses it effectively. This is a person who is so well-suited to his profession that I am grateful to have had his help. My life has improved significantly because I have integrated things he has said during our sessions into my life.
