Elizabeth Eber, PhD

Psychologist
MA
I'm an experienced licensed psychologist. I specialize in working with adults of all ages who have difficulty managing their emotions, coping with stress, or dealing with difficult life transitions, or those who feel stuck in ineffective patterns of behavior in their relationships or day-to-day lives. I also work with people with ADHD who find that their symptoms are getting in the way of their achieving important life goals and those who've had traumatic experiences that continue to negatively impact their lives. My approach to therapy varies based on the needs of each client. I most frequently use cognitive behavioral and interpersonal approaches to build a shared understanding of the problems or concerns my client is experiencing, and to collaboratively determine how we'll work together to help them reach their desired goals. I specialize in working with adults with ADHD and those who experience anxiety, depression, or other unpleasant emotions that cause difficulties in their lives. I also work well with people who want to find healthier or more effective strategies for managing stress or who have experienced traumatic experiences in their lives that continue to negatively impact them. My style is warm, calm, and personable. I strive to create an open and non-judgmental environment where each client feels safe and comfortable talking with me. I'm a good listener, and I'm also comfortable taking a more active role, especially when my clients are actively seeking to learn new coping skills. I view goal setting as a collaborative process. I strongly believe that each client is the driver when it comes to identifying the goals that are important to them and in determining what they want to accomplish in therapy. My role as therapist is to share my expertise about the different therapeutic approaches that can be taken to help them achieve their goals so that each client can choose the approach they think will work best for them.
