Dr. Ellie Dale PT, DPT, OCS earned her doctorate degree in physical therapy from the University of California, San Francisco. Through the UCSF program, she completed a Manual Therapy Fellowship and participated in a research study through the VA in Palo Alto, which she then presented at the Combined Sections Meeting for Physical Therapists. After moving back to Southern California, she earned her Orthopedic Specialist Certification and became an Adjunct Clinical Faculty member at Chapman University Doctorate Physical Therapy Program. She taught multiple courses, including Musculoskeletal Practice Management, Concussion Management, and Advanced Orthopedics. It is here that she met her star students, Kevin and AJ, who excelled in the program. In 2023, Ellie joined a team to publish an article entitled “An Investigation of Scapular Dyskinesis in Recreational Surfers and Non-Surfers,” which furthered her clinical reasoning with shoulder patients, specifically overhead athletes. Ellie’s strong points of interest are general orthopedics, chronic pain conditions, headaches, and TMJ. She loves treating a variety of orthopedic conditions and connects with each patient to tailor her treatments to their specific needs. She utilizes manual therapy, joint mobilization, neuromuscular re-education, and functional strengthening. She also assesses and casts for custom orthotics to treat chronic foot/ankle injuries as well as knee, hip, and lower back pain. Ellie grew up in Southern California and knew she wanted to become a physical therapist from an early age after sustaining multiple sports injuries. She loves spending time with her husband and two children, most often at the beach or on the fields, coaching and cheering on her kids.
