About Dr. Emily Schlicht

Welcome to EMpower PT! I am a physical therapist currently treating in NYC. I treat people of all ages-from birth to 100+ years old-though I specialize in working with infants and toddlers. All services are provided in the comfort of your own home! Our first appointment will be a virtual visit so I can make sure we are a good match. I earned my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the State University of New York, Stony Brook. I am certified in Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI), which allows us to work on postural righting and balance reactions while providing vestibular and proprioceptive input that helps the child learn. I am also a Certified Autism Specialist (CAS). As an Autism Specialist, I can carry out standardized testing to help your child get the support they need to succeed in school. I can help introduce sensory stimuli in a controlled manner to reduce the frequency of sensory-driven meltdowns, assist your child in reaching new motor milestones while incorporating appropriate communication techniques, and much more. Additionally, I am a strength and conditioning certified specialist (CSCS) with experience working with youth, high school, and college athletes who are recovering from or preventing injuries. One of my passions is researching the prevention of ACL, MCL, and meniscus injuries in female athletes. During my free time, I enjoy playing with dogs, camping, skiing, knitting, and most importantly-watching bad reality TV.
