About Dr. Eric Simoncelli

Dr. Eric Simoncelli, PT, DPT is a staff physical therapist at our Woodlawn location that specializes in sports physical therapy and orthopedic physical therapy. He earned his undergraduate Exercise and Sports Studies degree and a Doctoral of Physical Therapy from D’Youville College. Dr. Simoncelli is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association. Sports have always been a passion for Dr. Simoncelli which is partially what drove him to become a physical therapist with a special interest in performance physical therapy. He has high level training in Baseball as both a college player, professional coach and high school coach that he brings to his physical therapy with athletes of all levels. Dr. Simoncelli approaches every patient as a new and unique situation. He understands each patient starts at a different place and has different goals and aspirations. Dr. Simoncelli uses the tools and techniques from his toolbox to devise a treatment program to best help each patient reach their goals. Dr. Simoncelli has experience treating patients with orthopedic and athletic injuries as well as other musculoskeletal dysfunctions. He enjoys returning active people back to their active lifestyles after a setback. Dr. Simoncelli created a high level rehab program for athletes to return to play, and a pre-habilitative/injury prevention program to prevent injury before it can occur. He is pursuing continuing education and independently researching new ways to identify problems and their root cause and best ways to intervene.
