About Evelyn Hubbell
Evelyn began her journey in movement as a professional ballet dancer before transitioning into teaching Gyrotonic and Pilates for over 16 years. Her deep curiosity about the human body and desire to help others move better inspired her to pursue a career in physical therapy. This unique foundation in movement education and biomechanics continues to shape her approach as a clinician, blending artful body awareness with evidence-based rehabilitation.
She earned both her Doctor of Physical Therapy and Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. Since becoming licensed Physical Therapist, Evelyn has worked in a variety of outpatient orthopedic settings across Manhattan, gaining experience in treating post-surgical cases, sports and dance injuries, neuro-rehabilitation, and geriatrics. She is committed to crafting individualized treatment plans that integrate manual therapy, functional strength training, and movement education.
Evelyn is known for her warm, attentive communication and a patient-first mindset. She continues to expand her clinical skills and knowledge through ongoing coursework in manual therapy and biomechanics to better serve her diverse patient population. Outside the clinic, Evelyn stays active through dance, tennis, and hiking in Vermont, and she enjoys spending time at Broadway shows and Lincoln Center performances.

Evelyn is the most kind, caring, thoughtful, knowledgeable, thorough physical therapist I have ever seen. She listens with infinite patience, asks a lot of questions (many of which no one has asked before), explains in detail. She constantly checks to make sure what she's doing or what she's asking me to do aren't causing additional pain and always finds a modification when that inevitably inadvertently happens. I would very highly recommend her to anyone with chronic pain.

Evelyn has been extremely helpful isolating the muscles that need work and providing exercises that I can do at home. Her manual PT work has been very effective. She is warm, caring and knowledgeable!
