Getting to know Frederick Blum

Hi there, I'm Frederick! I am Frederick Blum, Ph.D., LMFT. I earned my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Southern California. I have been providing therapy to clients since 1988 as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT 23846) and since 2010 as a licensed Psychologist (PSY 23388). I have training and experience using different approaches to help clients resolve and manage anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, parenting, couples conflicts, and additional problems presented by the clients I have served in therapy. I have successfully worked with children over age 5, teens, and adults. I have treated individuals, families, couples, and groups of various types. I will be happy to work with you to find solutions to the problems that you are facing. Creative solutions are available and waiting for you. My approach My approach is client-centered. I use many therapy tools to help find solutions to issues presented by my clients. Some are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Prolonged Exposure, Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Supportive Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and others. My focus is to collaborate with my clients to find the approach that meets his or her needs. I look forward to assisting you to find the solutions you are seeking, and the meaning and fulfillment you desire. My focus Often my clients enter therapy with a definite focus and goal in mind. Others want assistance to define their problem needs and then find solutions. I am comfortable with both. Frequently my clients’ concerns include anxiety, depression, trauma (PTSD), ADHD skills learning, relationship issues, parenting, and co-parenting when a child is living between two different homes. I will be happy and count it a privilege to discover with you just what is needed in your life for more fulfillment, contentment, and harmony.
