About Dr. Gary John Mullen

I was born in Centerville, Ohio, and grew up playing many sports. I attended Purdue University for my undergraduate studies, where I also swam collegiately. On the swim team at Purdue, I met my wife, whom I have been happily married to for over 10 years. After Purdue, I attended the University of Southern California for my doctorate in physical therapy. Swimming remains a passion and you will often find me at the pool or doing a swimming podcast with a few buddies when I’m not at the clinic. John is a World-renowned expert and speaker in swimming science, sports training, and rehabilitation. I love helping better improve their quality of life, whether it is sitting without pain or trying to beat a World Record! Achievements: John is a World-renowned expert and speaker in swimming science, sports training, and rehabilitation. Accomplished Publisher of the following books: Swimmers Shoulder System; Dryland for Swimmers; Mobility for Swimmers; Swimming Core Training. Golden Cane Award 2011 – Award for contribution to the field of Physical Therapy. Honor of Areté 2011 – Graduate award for leadership and community service. Josette Antonelli Divisional Service Scholarship 2010 – Divisional Service Scholarship for community service. Red Mackey Award 2008– Award of leadership selected by peers of collegiate swim team. R.
