About Hanadi Al-Sawah

Hanadi earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) and B.S. in Health Sciences from Mercy College. After obtaining her DPT, she went on to complete a Clinical Residency in Orthopedic Physical Therapy at New York University. Hanadi served as a teaching assistant for the orthopedic courses offered in the DPT programs at NYU, during her Residency, and at Mercy College for 5 years, following graduation. She was also brought on as an Adjunct Professor in Mercy College’s DPT program, and served in that role for 2 years. Hanadi has practiced in outpatient orthopedic settings in Queens, NY. Hanadi is a patient-focused clinician that is adept at examining a patient’s rehabilitative needs and developing therapeutic strategies and treatment goals. Her philosophy is that a patient’s journey in returning to their prior level of function and in improving their quality of life begins with trust – the patient-therapist bond. She strives to have the patient be an active participant in their care and is a strong advocate for her patients. Hanadi has experience in treating a variety of operative and non-operative orthopedic and sports-related injuries, as well as neuromuscular and vestibular conditions among varying age groups. Hanadi utilizes a combination of evidence-based practice, clinical expertise, and the patient’s goals in determining and developing a patient’s individualized plan of care. She integrates manual therapy, neuromuscular reeducation, therapeutic exercise, patient education, and home exercise programs in order to meet her patient’s goals. Hanadi was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. She enjoys cooking, going for walks, painting, playing tennis, and spending time with friends, family, and her fur babies. Hanadi hasn’t had the opportunity to travel much, but it is definitely something that she is looking forward to doing more of!
