About Dr. Isaac Lai
Isaac Lai is a seasoned physical therapist with over twenty years of experience and a passion for helping his patients. He treats each individual with compassion and care, working tirelessly to ensure they achieve their goals and live life to the fullest. Isaac earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Duke University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Studio Art from Knox College.
His clinical practice serves a diverse range of patients, including those with vestibular and workers' compensation injuries, overhead and sports athletes, pre- and postoperative care patients, individuals experiencing musculoskeletal pain, and those seeking postural and body mechanics education. Isaac believes the most rewarding aspect of being a physical therapist is the opportunity to be part of a community dedicated to improving the quality of life for injured individuals.
Isaac is excited to open a new Vernon Hills facility offering a comprehensive range of services, including orthopedic and neurological physical therapy, personal training, sports performance, Pilates, and a recovery room. This state-of-the-art center combines cutting-edge technology with personalized care, designed with the patient’s comfort and well-being in mind. A natural athlete himself, Isaac excelled in various sports throughout high school and college. He is also proud of his son and daughter, who have grown into talented and accomplished young adults.

Isaac dedicated the time to really listen to what I was experiencing that was problematic and concerning for me, helped me understand the issue and made me feel empowered about my ability and capacity to care for, heal, and strengthen my body. Excellent level of care. Isaac found the issues that were causing pain in my hip and shoulder and also addressed any new symptoms that arose between visits. Very friendly, accommodating and informative throughout the whole process.

TFI provides excellent personalized care. They have all the latest equipment but in a smaller, more individualized setting. Isaac and Ursula adapted my PT sessions based on my individual needs each visit. Highly recommend!

Phenomenal experience. Came for a few weeks due to an injury. The facility is brand new, superbly well equipped, has everything there, and feels large, spacious and energizing. The staff are first grade, from the front desk folks to the actual PT. He was one of the best i have encountered, friendly, knowledgable and charted a perfect recover journey that worked!

Isaac is THE best! He was able to quickly diagnose my issue(s) - first with my oblique (which he fixed within 2 days!) and then with my shoulders (which will take a little bit longer). He’s so approachable and uber patient. And he’s super accommodating with my crazy schedule. When my son wanted to try the recovery room, he was super patient and made him feel like a VIP. Highly recommend TFi - and ask for Isaac!

Isaac has a phenomenal approach to client care, one that is truly caring, providing a relaxed and not pushy atmosphere to physical therapy. Before each session he would ask how I am feeling and make modifications on the fly if need be, all while continuing to slowly progress and challenge me so I was on the path to recovery. I always truly felt I was in great hands and would highly recommend Isaac to anyone in need of physical therapy.

Isaac and Luigi are the ultimate dynamic duo. They've been my go-to guys for improving my speed and strength as a serious athlete. Luigi's agility training has been a game-changer, helping me explode with momentum from a standstill. And let me tell you, Isaac's plan for recovery has been a lifesaver. It's like he's unlocked the secret to soothing sore muscles and boosting blood flow. These two are the real deal, and I couldn't be happier with the results.
