“My reason for PT was bilateral calcaneus fractures, so I was a month out of 6 weeks in a wheelchair. Jake got me from barely standing to walking 2 miles at a normal pace. ”

About Dr. Jacob Hughes
Hey everyone! I am originally from Lynnwood, WA, but decided to follow my dreams of playing college football in Northern California at a small Juco in Quincy, CA. Unfortunately, I caught the injury bug which ended my dream, but it started a new one: becoming a Physical Therapist! I later transferred to Washington State University (GO COUGS!) where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Sport Science and worked as a Personal Trainer and Strength and Conditioning Coach for many club teams. I then moved to Phoenix, AZ, where I earned my Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Midwestern University, Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. I got so burnt out in the desert I decided to come back to the beautiful rainy PNW and continue the lineage of five generations in the Northwest. When I am not at work, you can find me enjoying the beautiful outdoors rain or shine, in the gym, watching any sport that is on, or most often treating my bulldog Moose and pitbull Tater like human children. I can't wait to hear your story and collaborate on how we can get you back to doing the things you love to do.

I’ve had the best absolute best experience with my time at SPT. The staff members are all so kind and communicative, taking the time to actually get to know you and help you. They are patient, helping you learn the exercises and pushing you just the right amount.
My low back pain brought discomfort and pain for three years. After going to SPT, I now experience little to no symptoms. The pain is rare and not nearly as severe, and goes away once I do the exercises taught to me in physical therapy.
SPT not only provided extreme relief for my pain, but it also was a place that I always looked forward to going to. The staff creates a welcoming and fun environment, making visits enjoyable. I would 10/10 recommend SPT.

Great staff, very helpful. They did a great job of explaining the process and all exercises. I am now ready to get back to normal activities because of all their help. I would recommend them to anyone that needs PT.

Jake, Andrea & Mary are fantastic! This is my 2nd time back, different body part. I will not go to another PT provider again. Their knowledge coupled with their caring attitudes are awesome. It really doesn't feel like your going to PT but instead to go heal, exercise and get better. Thank you for everything!

Great initial experience. my PT seems very knowledgeable and was clear in setting goals and expectations for recovery and improvement. I am eager to get in to more sessions.

This is my third round with SPT - after surgery on broken ankle, shoulder restriction, and hip arthritis & femoral nerve. All 3 times I have had excellent results that last years afterwards. If I feel a flare up I have the exercises to start up again. This is by far the best PT I have ever had (I’m 72).

I was taken great care of at SPT! As an athlete, it was important to me to get back as soon as possible. Jake made sure to listen to my wants and focused on my needs in order to get me healthy. He also made sure to explain the process in a way that was easy to understand. He and the staff incorporated my sport into my exercises which made it fun for me to come in!

I had a great time working with Jake. He was very informative and knowledgable about my injury. He also has a great supportive staff that helped me with many different exercises. Even though I came in for my specific injury I left feeling overall stronger. I always felt that I was being listened to and helped me with my rehab process. I definitely recommend anyone to Jake even if you’re not the a top level athlete as you feel like one when you finish here
