About Dr. James Beck

I didn't come to physical therapy right out of school; I came to it through my passion for running. That led to personal training and a discovered passion for learning about movement. I love seeing how we can optimize our bodies for the things we want to do with them. I've been an athlete my whole life. Soccer, marathons, skiing, golf — movement has always been central to who I am. I received my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Long Island University Brooklyn and hold advanced certifications in golf injury assessment (TPI Medical Level 3) and functional movement (CAFS, Gray Institute). I specialize in working with golfers, runners, and active adults. My approach is intuitive rather than one-size-fits-all. I treat every session as a collaborative problem to solve between me and the patient, figuring out together what your body needs and adjusting as we go. Outside the clinic I'm a partner, a father, a music lover, and a weekend golfer trying to lower my handicap.
