Dr. James Harris, DPT

Physical Therapist
3508 Far W Blvd, Ste 240, Austin, TX
I have always had a passion for athletics. This passion eventually led me to play college baseball for the Texas Longhorns, culminating in being a member of the 1983 National Championship team. My enthusiasm for playing baseball caused me to sustain a serious shoulder injury, which would change the trajectory of my life. After college I sought a career that allowed me to inspire and help others. After the first few moments in an orthopedic clinic, I knew instantly that physical therapy was meant for me. In 1985, I finished my degrees in Kinesiology and Sociology from the University of Texas at Austin. I continued my education, receiving post-professional orthopedic training from the Manual Therapy Institute and am a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Therapists. I consider it a blessing and a privilege to be a manual physical therapist, and I am curious to see what kind of effect my personal journey might have on others. When I am not treating patients, I like to spend my time with my wife Maricela, and sons Jake and Matthew. I also enjoy cycling, weight training, drumming, and off-roading in my ultra-modded Jeep.
