I am a new patient with Dr. James Hawkins, he made me feel comfortable and he said we have a plan for you to help you as long as you do the work which I will. No other therapist ever said that to me, the previous therapist's, there were 2 just talked and never laid out a plan to save me and my marriage. Dr. James Hawkins is very clear and precise. He lets you know what the plan is and sends you lots of information. I am in my 70's with a second marriage that is failing due to me. My anger and fears have stopped me from seeking help for a long time and my previous therapist's never set a plan in motion. I will probably lose my wife because of it, I will cry like a baby I am the only one to blame, God help me.

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, and have been living and working in San Juan, Puerto Rico, for the past seven years as a Cognitive Behavioral psychotherapist and substance abuse and mental health consultant. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Columbia University and a Doctor of Ministry from the Graduate Theological Foundation.
With forty years of experience as a human services professional, I utilize my knowledge and skills to foster a therapeutic collaboration with my clients. I assist them in identifying the nature and impact of their emotional challenges and help them explore possible avenues of spirituality, healing, meaning, and fulfillment.
