Getting to know Megan Purcell

I help adults navigate life’s challenges and build healthier, more fulfilling lives. With graduate degrees in both social work and psychology, I combine a strong understanding of human behavior with a compassionate, down-to-earth approach. Whether you’re facing stress, life transitions, or a desire for personal growth, I’m here to provide a safe, supportive space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered. Together, we’ll work toward meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you. If you’re ready to take the next step toward emotional well-being, I’m here to walk alongside you. Let’s begin your path forward together.

What should a new client know about working with you?

During our first session, I take the time to truly get to know you. I want to know your story, your goals, and what has brought you to therapy. This isn’t a one-size-fits-all process. People come to counseling for many different reasons, and by understanding what matters most to you, I can tailor our sessions to create meaningful, lasting change. My goal is for you to feel supported, understood, and confident that you’re in the right place. From day one, you’ll experience a personalized, compassionate approach designed to help you move forward with clarity and purpose. I understand that making time for therapy is a big step, especially with the demands of daily life. To make the process as convenient as possible, I offer weekday evening appointments — typically at 7:00 or 8:00 PM EST — so you can prioritize your well-being without disrupting your routine.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Previous clients have shared that they feel safe, heard, and understood during our sessions. Over the years, many have entrusted me with deeply personal stories; experiences they’ve never shared with anyone else. I consider it an incredible honor to hold that trust and to walk alongside each person in their journey. I’m truly grateful that you’re considering me as your therapist. I work with -adults- who are navigating life’s challenges: whether you’re healing from narcissistic abuse, facing a major life transition, or struggling with anxiety, depression, or discontent in your life. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or uncertain about the next step. Together, we create a space where healing, clarity, and self-understanding can begin. To make your first session as smooth as possible, I ask that all intake paperwork be completed electronically at least 48 hours before your scheduled appointment. I will send this paperwork to you within 24 hours after you schedule with me. By getting this completed before the appointment, it allows us to focus our time together on you and your goals for therapy. To ensure I can provide the best care possible, I currently do not work with clients who have open or pending legal matters, or plans in the near future: court-ordered treatment, active CPS cases, divorce, custody disputes, domestic violence situations, or ongoing lawsuits. I do not see people who are struggling with thoughts of harming self or another person. My practice is focused on offering individual counseling sessions for adults in a supportive and confidential space.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
