Dr. Joshua Vinocour, PhD

Psychologist
MA
Hi there, I'm Joshua! Kudos for making it this far. The first step is often the hardest. My goal is to help you take the next steps, whatever those might be. I'm a generalist who is comfortable addressing a wide range of symptoms and life challenges. I take a client-centered, humanistic approach, tailoring treatment to each client's needs. My approach I take an integrative approach to treatment, meaning that I draw from a variety of therapeutic techniques, selecting one or more approaches depending on each client's unique difficulties and goals. We would collaborate on the selection of a treatment approach and periodically reevaluate our approach to help ensure that we're on the right track. Our therapeutic approach may change during the course of treatment depending on your needs and progress. I provide a variety of specific treatments, including several forms of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), client-centered or Rogerian therapy, Interpersonal Process Therapy (IPT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) and Emotion-Focused Couples Counseling, short-term psychodynamic psychotherapy, and dynamic family therapy. My focus I'm a generalist who works with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I'm comfortable working with a range of concerns and symptoms, including depression, anxiety, substance use, relationship difficulties, and challenging life circumstances. I have particular experience working with children and adults with histories of trauma and abuse, with parents, families, and couples, with veterans, and people with interpersonal difficulties. My communication style I strive for clear and open communication, and I encourage the same. Transparency is critical for developing trust, and it's nothing less than what each client deserves. I value your autonomy and your right to know what we're doing and why. If you ever have a question or concern, I would encourage you to let me know so that we can discuss it.
