Psychotherapist

Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, especially when you’re used to being the strong one, taking care of everyone else, or figuring things out on your own. I’m a Psychotherapist who works with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, burnout, identity, family dynamics, and major life transitions. I have a particular passion for supporting adult children of immigrants, BIPOC clients, creatives, and people who may look highly capable on the outside while feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or exhausted underneath. Many of my clients come to therapy wanting to better understand patterns they’ve carried from childhood, strengthen their relationships, set healthier boundaries, reconnect with themselves, and create a life that feels more authentic and sustainable. My approach is warm, collaborative, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed. I don’t believe therapy should feel like you’re simply talking at someone for 50 minutes. I’m engaged and curious, and I’ll help you connect the dots between your past experiences, present-day patterns, relationships, emotions, and the ways you’ve learned to protect yourself. Together, we can make space for both deeper healing and practical change. Our work may include exploring attachment patterns, family and cultural expectations, self-worth, people-pleasing, perfectionism, grief, anxiety, life transitions, and the parts of yourself that may have been pushed aside in order to survive or succeed. My goal is to create a space where you can show up fully and honestly without having to perform, minimize what you’re experiencing, or have everything figured out. Therapy can be a place to feel more grounded in who you are, understand yourself with greater compassion, and move toward the relationships and life you genuinely want.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My therapy style is warm, engaged, collaborative, and grounded in genuine connection. I’m not the kind of therapist who will simply sit back, nod, and leave you wondering what I’m thinking. I ask thoughtful questions, offer reflections, help you notice patterns, and gently challenge you when it may support your growth. I take a trauma-informed and culturally responsive approach, which means we’ll look at your experiences within the larger context of your relationships, family, culture, identity, and the environments that have shaped you. I’m especially interested in helping clients understand the “why” behind their patterns rather than judging themselves for having them. Sessions are tailored to what you need. Some days may involve deeper exploration of childhood experiences, attachment, grief, or relationship patterns, while others may focus on practical coping tools, boundaries, decision-making, or navigating something happening in your life right now. You don’t need to arrive with everything figured out or know exactly what you want to talk about. We can start wherever you are. My goal is for therapy to feel like a space where you can be honest, curious, challenged when needed, and ultimately feel more connected to yourself and the life you want to create.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first few sessions are focused on getting to know you, understanding what brings you to therapy, and exploring the experiences, relationships, and patterns that may be impacting you today. We’ll talk about your goals for therapy, but you don’t need to have them perfectly defined before we begin. From there, sessions are collaborative and tailored to what feels most important in the moment. A typical session may include checking in on what has been happening since we last met, exploring emotions or recurring patterns, making connections between past and present experiences, and identifying practical ways to support you outside of therapy. I tend to be an active and engaged therapist. I’ll ask questions, offer reflections, help you identify themes, and gently challenge patterns when it feels helpful. Depending on your needs, our work may also include coping strategies, boundary-setting, emotional regulation, communication skills, or deeper exploration of trauma, attachment, family dynamics, and identity. I also believe therapy should evolve as you do. We’ll regularly check in on what is working, what you need more or less of, and how our sessions can continue to support your growth in a meaningful way.
