Hi! I'm Dr. Edwards, and I’m a psychologist living and working in the Houston area. I am a born and raised Texan, growing up in the Hill Country, and I obtained my bachelor’s degree in psychology at The University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio. After my BA, I headed north to Denton, TX, where I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Health Psychology at The University of North Texas (UNT). Then in 2015, this Texan packed up her car and drove even further north to Syracuse, NY, for one of the coldest years of my life to complete my pre-doctoral internship at the State University of New York Upstate Medical University. Once I completed my internship, Texas called me back for my post-doctoral fellowship in Houston at The Menninger Clinic, an affiliate of Baylor College of Medicine. So, I packed up and pointed my car south again, and Houston has been my home ever since.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I deeply believe therapy is a tool to help foster a felt sense of "aliveness." With that sense of "aliveness" comes a greater capacity for decision-making, experiencing relationships as secure, and believing in one's capacity to heal and feel safe in the world.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
