About Kerina Maharaja

Kerina is proud to offer physical therapy as part of XRHealth, a virtual therapy clinic that provides one-on-one physical and occupational therapy to help you feel like yourself again. After an initial evaluation and approval from your therapist, patients receive a VR headset to use at home at no extra cost. Kerina graduated from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA, with her Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2018. Since then, she has spent the past 4.5 years growing her manual skill sets as well as her knowledge to reflect the most up-to-date and evidence-based care. She has spent the majority of her career, to this point, in the acute care hospital setting while also exploring telemedicine and the use of novel technologies in physical rehabilitation. Kerina’s experience in the acute care setting provided her with a wide knowledge base of simple and complex medical diagnoses under orthopedic, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and post-surgical services. Her recent experience in telemedicine with the use of robotics and virtual reality, combined with her extensive medical knowledge, drove her to start working with XRHealth with a goal to optimize patients’ pain management and functional mobility.
