Dr. Vollmer uses manual skills to improve biomechanical faults of the joints and spine while also implementing soft tissue mobilization/manipulation and other modalities including trigger point dry needling to improve movement restrictions and reduce pain. His experience also extends to patients with neurological conditions, including but not limited to, Multiple Sclerosis, Spinal Cord Injury (SCI), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and amputations. He has expertise with gait training, especially geared towards improving mechanics of patients who have suffered an amputation of the leg. Dr. Vollmer believes that the best approach to therapy involves collaboration between the therapist and the patient to determine goals and the appropriate approach to treatment. He strongly believes in using the patient’s sessions to improve mechanical faults and muscular imbalances with his hands-on techniques, while implementing home exercise programs to augment treatment and allow for further progression.
