Getting to know Dr. Lauren Lachica-Muschett

Hi! I'm Lauren. I am a results-driven, values-based, and person-focused Clinical Psychologist with a history working with diverse populations, including veterans, emerging adults, LGBTQ+, and underserved communities. I earned my PsyD and Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Georgia Southern University and hold a Bachelor’s from Troy University. I believe a good therapist pays attention to what the person is saying—and not saying—especially when what they are not saying relates to their environment. My approach I am primarily a third-wave Cognitive Behavioral psychologist and embrace a multicultural approach. I am passionate about interventions from Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I also offer trauma-focused modalities, including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), and Cognitive Behavioral Conjoint Therapy for PTSD (CBCT for PTSD). My focus I provide individual therapy for adults and have experience treating a wide range of issues, including ADHD, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), Chronic Pain, Coping Skills, Cultural Stress, Women’s Issues, Depression, Divorce, Dual Diagnosis, Eating Disorders, Emotional Disturbance, Gender Identity, Schizophrenia, Grief, Infidelity, Life Coaching, Life Transitions, Marital and Premarital Concerns, Men’s Issues, Peer Relationships, Pregnancy, Prenatal and Postpartum Care, Racial Identity, Relationship Issues, Self-Harming, Sexual Trauma, Sleep or Insomnia, Stress, Substance Use, Suicidal Ideation, Testing and Evaluation, Trauma, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and Women’s Issues. My communication style I believe in a warm, supportive, and direct communication style. I see therapy as a safe space for you to share things you feel stuck on, ashamed of, or embarrassed by—things you might hesitate to share with a significant other or even say to yourself.
