Psychologist
MA
Hi there, I'm Lisa! I’m Dr. Lisa Watson, a clinical psychologist passionate about helping individuals improve their mental and physical well-being through evidence-based, action-oriented therapy. I specialize in blending cognitive behavioral techniques with a focus on nutrition, exercise, and self-care to empower my clients to achieve fast, lasting results. My approach My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and tailored to each individual’s needs, combining cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based stress reduction, and positive psychology. Together, we explore patterns of thought and behavior while incorporating stress management and strengths-based techniques to foster resilience, well-being, and personal growth. My focus I enjoy working with clients who are wanting to make active changes in their lives. I work well with individuals with mood disorders, medical conditions, workplace stress, and grief/loss. My communication style I am collaborative. I like to offer a balance of challenge and support to my clients to help them realize their goals. My journey to mental healthcare I have a background in education and public health research. While I found my work rewarding, I wanted to have more personal contact with individuals vs population health. I've always been fascinated by medicine and healthcare so I put these interests together and sought training as a health psychologist and later on sought employment treating military veterans. I get excited when I can teach my patients/clients how to thrive in their lives. My work is fulfilling when clients are able to witness these positive changes in their own lives. I view myself as a cheerleader who is up to date with the latest research in my field. My goals for you I set up goals collaboratively with clients in session one. I invite them to choose top three things they would like to get out of therapy and together we develop a plan of how to achieve them.
