Lorraine Jessel PT, DPT received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Samuel Merritt University in Oakland, CA, and a Bachelor’s degree in Allied Health Sciences from Saint Mary’s College of California in Moraga, CA. Lorraine was born and raised in the Bay Area. From dirt biking to water skiing, Lorraine’s youth was filled with a variety of athletic pursuits. However, her experience as a competitive basketball player for eight years ignited her passion for sports and physical performance. Early in her clinical education, Lorraine quickly learned that restoring athletes and active individuals to a basic “functional capacity” was not enough to meet the demands of their lifestyle. Driven by these shortcomings, Lorraine’s goal is to not only rehabilitate injuries but to help patients exceed their prior level of activity and prevent future issues. She is dedicated to empowering her patients through fostering a strong sense of independence, resilience, and confidence. Lorraine takes a holistic approach to treatment that places patients’ needs at the forefront while integrating techniques such as manual therapy, functional strength training, and corrective movement. In her free time, Lorraine enjoys weight lifting, spending time outdoors with her partner and Australian Shepard, Atwood, trying new restaurants, and absolutely crushing the leaderboards on the peloton.
